  Ménage with the Dragon Shifter

  By Celia Styles

  One

“Nova, we have to do something about this, and soon.” Lila looked out the window at the sprawling grounds that surrounded the mansion she’d lived in for almost two centuries. She’d stood at this window overlooking the same field of wildflowers as the days turned into weeks, into months, years, decades, and into two long, loveless centuries. She hadn’t been lonely, not with her best friend and partner, Nova, by her side.

“What do you suggest we do? There’ve been six candidates over the past year and none have panned out.” He looked at his best friend and his heart clenched. In the one hundred and fifty years they’d been side by side, he’d never seen Lila look so despondent. “Is it impossible, what we’re looking for?”

Lila spun around, her waist-length red hair a banner of fire waving behind her. “It can’t be. This situation isn’t impossible. I won’t allow it to be. We need it to be possible, Nova.” Her blue eyes flared gold and she let her anger wash over her, let it fuel her to find a solution to their problem. “We just haven’t found the right candidate yet, that’s all.”

Nova sighed and ran a hand through his Viking blonde hair, hanging nearly to his shoulders. “We’ve looked everywhere, Lila. Bars, football games, college campuses, and even a monastery, and we’ve come up empty every single time.”

She draped her petite, curvy frame across a teal settee. “We are bound together for all of eternity, Nova. No matter what happens, we will die together. Our bond is stronger than a simple human marriage and commitment.”

“Yeah, well, tell me something I don’t know.”

Lila had to smile at Nova. He had picked up modern human verbiage as if he’d been speaking it all his life. She sat up and rested her forearms on her thighs. “You don’t know how to find a man we can both love.” She sat back, pleased with her snarky response.

  “Neither do you.”

“I know exactly how to find him, we just haven’t found him…yet.” But she was confident they would. “Markus was perfect in every way, if only he could keep his dick in his pants.” He had been a spectacular lover. Her core clenched at the mere thought of his magical mouth.

“Too bad you had to go and kill him.”

She blushed. “You should never mess with a scorned woman.”

“That’s not the saying. ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.’ That is how they say it, and in your case, it is absolutely correct.” Nova stood and poured drinks for them. He needed to keep himself busy to propose what he was about to propose.

It wasn’t that he didn’t find Lila beautiful, because he did. In fact, he’d always thought she was the most gorgeous woman in any room, with her long red hair, dark velvety blue eyes and a bow and arrow mouth that any man would be lucky to kiss. Her curvy body had always been the height of fashion, and sought after in every decade and on every continent. When Nova looked at her, he could see himself fondling those large breasts with the raspberry-tipped buds or being cradled by those milky white thighs. But when the time came, he could not do it.

Not as a human. As dragons, they could mate all day and night because the connection, the desire, was not necessary. But these days, they spent more and more time in their human forms and as a human man, Nova could not get it up for his best friend and mate.

“I think we ought to try it again.”

Lila’s sigh was weary and exasperated. “Nova, as eager as I am to see you naked with that glorious erection pointed my way, I am equally reluctant to be subject to your body’s rejection of me.” She knew he didn’t reject her, but Nova was simply unable to derive any pleasure from sex with her. It was a definitely blow to her ego. Hence the plan to find another person to add to their twosome.

“I get that, Lila, I do. But I still think we should give ourselves one more night before we start the search again.”

  ~

Lila thought she must be sick in the head for agreeing to this mess again. Nova was a beautiful man with a body that was made for a woman’s pleasure. Unfortunately, he was not too keen on pleasing a woman. Sure, his tongue was as talented as any man or woman she’d bedded in her many years on Earth, but his cock just couldn’t seem to get excited for her. Under normal circumstances—whatever those were—she wouldn’t mind Nova’s lack of attraction to her. But as fate would have it, their fates were inextricably intertwined.

When Lila was a young girl still learning the power of her people, those blessed with the gift of being both dragon and human, she was told she should focus on honing her abilities and powers because her mate had not yet been born. So she did as she was told, practicing the shift until she had to do little more than think about shifting and her wings sprouted several feet out. One day she was practicing breathing fire when she’d felt something, a sensation unfamiliar to her. There was a stinging behind her eyes. It felt as though a hand had reached in and squeezed her organs, making it impossible to expel fire from her lungs.

Nova was born that day. Years passed before they were introduced, but every day, she felt his presence. When she met him, she was impressed, first with his physical beauty and his tall, looming physique. But slowly, they had become friends, neither having any great understanding of what it meant to be mates. They loved each other and were attracted to one another, but they had no idea what to do with that attraction.

Until the night of their mating ceremony made it possible to ignore. His young body was prepared to do what was required for them to become mates, but she had quickly realized the rest of him could not follow suit. She needed to protect Nova even then, so she’d kissed the hell out of him and pushed him on the ground, sinking over the impressive erection and rocking back and forth. His inexperience had saved his life, and he didn’t know enough to realize it. It had taken him less than a minute to spew his seed deep inside her body, and she screamed like it was the best night of her life.

When it was done, she leaned over and kissed his neck, whispering in his ear. “Don’t apologize or let on that anything was amiss.” His pale green eyes narrowed in confusion but he nodded and gripped her hips until he was buried so deep inside her she’d nearly winced in pain. He roared his satisfaction and she collapsed on him.

From that moment on, she knew there would never be a traditional mateship between them. She was okay with that for years, until she fell in love with Duke Marstens and realized what she was missing. She disappeared from London and vowed to try again with Nova. A century and a half together, and she still did nothing for him physically.

“So, why am I putting myself through this again?”

She knew the answer. She had to because she was forever linked to him, bound until one of them no longer drew breath—which could be several more centuries away. So she looped her hair into a bun and slid on an emerald green lingerie, then took a fortifying breath before meeting Nova in the sitting room.

His sharp intake of breath made her smile and her heart pick up pace just a little. “You are so stunning, Lila. I can’t understand
why I want to do such dirty things to you, yet I cannot.”

She cupped his face gently. “You can’t help how you feel, Nova. I’m fine with that.” She had to be. There was no other option. “Now, let’s get to this, shall we?”

She let out a squeal when his large hands cupped her ass and pulled her straight down onto his erection. She loved the feel of his stiff cock snug against her pussy as it moistened for him.

  “Yes, lets.”

With deliberate slowness, he pulled several pins from her bun until her red hair fell like a curtain around them. He wrapped her long hair around his hand several times and yanked back until her neck was exposed to him. One swipe of the tongue from the base of her throat to her chin, and her hips ground against him and she cried out. He groaned at the sensation of that wet heat covering his cock.

  “Oh, Nova.”

Her breasts were thrust toward his lips and he gladly pulled one into his mouth, and sucked until she cried out. She gripped his hair and tugged as his teeth sank into her hardened nipple. The heat was building between them as her moisture flooded her thighs.

With her eyes closed, it felt as though she was falling, but she realized Nova was laying her on a carpet near the fireplace. He ripped her gown with one hard tug and her sumptuous body was displayed before him, lit—appropriately—by fire.

He groaned at the sight of her. She was a fucking vision, with her peaches and cream skin, rosy nipples and…Was that…?

“Did you have your hair done in the shape of a flame?”

“Of course I did. It’s one of the most fun new things I’ve recently discovered. You like?”

  “I do.”

He kissed his way down her body until his wide shoulders had her legs draped over his shoulders. He kissed her sweet nectar until she was trembling under his mouth. Up and down, his tongue played through her folds before sinking deep inside and fucking her with his mouth.

  “Nova!”

Her screams were the only noise aside from his tongue trailing through her dripping center. Her small fingers tugged his blond locks until his face was buried deep between her legs, pleasuring her until she came apart with the keening wail that punctuated her transformations.

“I really think you’re getting better at that,” she said between harsh intakes of breath.

“I quite like it. The taste is so unique, sweet like honey, yet also a bit tangy. And check it out.” He stood so she could see his cock.

Lila licked her lips, eager to get her mouth on that beautiful length with a pearl of moisture beading the tip. She reached for him and swiped her tongue along the top, relishing that hiss that told her he liked her moves.

“Mmm so good,” she purred as she pulled all nine inches of him into her mouth.

Nova could do nothing but moan and soak up the sensations passing through his body. Her succulent lips worked his cock like magic and he found himself pumping his hips, fucking her face as he truly enjoyed it. Hope rose when he grabbed her hair to keep her still and thrust himself deep down her throat, enjoying the drag of her mouth and lips against the sensitized nerves running along him.

  “Fuck, Lila. Your mouth.”

She grabbed his ass—what a fine ass it was—and pushed him harder and deeper inside her, sucking until her jaw hurt. One rough tug on his balls and she was drinking him up like the finest of wines. Her efforts slowed to help bring him down, gently swirling her tongue around the head of his cock while he thrust lazily into her.

“That was an impressive load, Nova.”

“And I’m still hard,” he growled and pushed her over until her round heart-shaped ass was pushed up in his direction. He lined is cock up with her entrance, noticing it twitch when her juices dripped onto it. He sank into her in one smooth move and waited. Still hard. He was ready and this was happening. He pulled out nearly all the way and thrust back in, performing the same move two more times.

“Nova.” It wasn’t working. She could already feel him softening inside her. “Nova, stop.”

  “Shit, I’m sorry, Lila.”

She turned to face him and wrapped her legs around his waist. They sat like that, sex to sex, and stared into each other’s eyes until he had to look away.

“It’s okay, Nova. There’s heat between us, but we need to find someone. Someone we can share. I know it’ll be perfect then. Just wait.”

“Like I have a choice.” He laid his head on her chest as his thumb lazily swirled her nipple. “Okay, Lila, it’s your turn, so go find us a mate.”

Soro wandered alone near the outskirts of town. There weren’t a lot of people out this way, where the homes were gigantic and neighbors were few and far between. He was sick of his life as it was. Sick of one night stands and empty promises, sick of lies and meaningless sex. He wanted, needed, something more than what the world had been giving up.

Last night was the last straw. His girlfriend Sasha decided she wanted to surprise him with a threesome. Any guy in his right mind would be down for fucking two hot chicks at the same time…Most of the time. But last night wasn’t Sasha’s first surprise and it certainly wouldn’t have been the last if he stayed. She used his body like it was little more than a fucking machine. A slab of meat put on the Earth solely to tease and please her pussy.

Well, Soro wanted more than that. He would gladly live a life full of threesomes if she’d shown one iota of interest in him or his life, his interests. She didn’t care anything about what he did when his cock wasn’t hard and sliding into her tight sheath. He could be out chopping up bodies and burying them for all she cared, as long as he came home and gave her a few orgasms afterwards.

So he’d left. Rather hastily, if the two bags tossed over his shoulder were any indication. He’d thrown what he could into two duffel bags and hit the streets.

Somehow, his feet had carried him here and he couldn’t fathom why. The rich people that lived behind these tall walls and big houses were probably just as bad as the ones on this side.

He decided to leave and go someplace else. Maybe geography would act as his good luck charm.

“Un-fucking-likely,” he said into the windblown trees.

At the end of block was a dead end, but it was also one of the few houses without a ten-foot fence shielding it.

He took the paved path on the left side of the house to the ocean splashing down below. This would be the perfect spot to capture his last day in town. He would sit on the cliff and paint the crisp, green brush and the violent, grey ocean. It was the perfect portrait to illustrate his tumultuous emotions.

His attention was redirected by a slow whoosh whoosh sound from up above. It looked like an eagle, but much too large. He spun and spun, eager to get a glimpse of the winged creature.

Maybe my new series will have mythical creatures in everyday scenes, he thought as he lost sight of the creature.

“Just my luck lately,” he grumbled and turned his attention back to the canvas.

He threw himself into the sketch first, looking up occasionally to jog his memory for the details in front of him. A few gentle strokes could make the ocean look friendly and welcoming, add in a few darker slashes and it looked like the angry beast it was.

  “This is private property.”

Soro stiffened at the cultured husky voice behind him. Shit. Of course he picked the one home where someone was actually around. He turned slowly, not wanting his large size to startle the woman.

“Fuck me,” he whispered out as he staggered back at the beauty before him.

This woman was an angel, a butt naked angel, but an angel all the same. Long, red hair fell down her back and a few strands drew his attention to the gorgeous breasts that looked to be more than a handful, even for him. Those dusty berry tips had him licking his lips and the flame at her center told him she was trouble.

“Uh, sorry. I just wanted to capture the ocean one last time.”

With her hands on her hips, the woman just stared at him, openly appra
ising him from top to bottom and back up again. Slowly, she sauntered toward Soro, hips swaying with every step, and stopped a few feet away.

“How did you get back here?”

His hands itched to touch her, anywhere—hell, everywhere. He couldn’t think straight with her creamy curves on display.

“I, uh, I came around the side on the paved path.” He held his hands up, “Are you okay, miss?”

The smile that crossed her face made him groan. Staring at her for the past minute had him harder than a steel rod.

“I’m quite good. Why do you ask?”

Soro rubbed the back of his head. “Well, you’re naked, so I’m hoping you were just sunbathing and not running from someone.”

“You’re sweet.” She walked closer. Her breast brushed his arm as she took in his sketch. “You’re a great artist, too. Is that why you came back here?”

He nodded, unsure of what else to do or say.

She turned back to him. Now just a few inches separated them. “To answer your question, no I’m not in any type of trouble. I was just out and about. I live here.”

“Okay then. I’m sorry to trespass, so I’ll just get out of here.” He gathered up his belongings.

“Don’t worry about it. You can finish your art before you go. Can I get you something to drink or eat?”

  “Seriously?”

She shrugged and laughed. “Sure, why not? I mean, you could have done any number of naughty things to me already, yet you haven’t, so you’re harmless.”

  “Ouch.”

She laughed again. “Do you object to being called harmless?”

“Not really. I’d never hurt you or anyone, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t thinking about lying you on the ground and fucking the hell out of you.” Her eyes widened and he thought maybe he’d gone too far, until he saw the desire flare in her eyes and those berry buds tighten before him.

“Then maybe you should have went with that.”
